MARTIN Margaret (Ryan) Martin, age 92, beloved wife of the late Harry D. Martin Sr. of Wethersfield, previously of Greenwich and Milford, died Thursday, January 31, 2008. Born and raised in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Murphy) Ryan. Mrs. Martin was a resident of Greenwich for 56 years and for 30 years in Milford prior to moving to Wethersfield where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law. She was employed by Otto & Otto Salon in Greenwich until her retirement. She was a veteran of the United States Army (WAAC) serving in World War II. As a sergeant, she was recognized by President Harry Truman for her outstanding performance. Mrs. Martin was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church. She is survived by a son, Harry Duncan Martin Jr. of Trumbull; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Pagani of Wethersfield; brother-in-law, James McConnell of Florida; six grandchildren, Melissa and her husband, Patrick Kennedy of Colchester, Lauren Pagani of California, Patrick, Julia, Timothy and Anna Martin, all of Stratford; two great-grandchildren, William and Matthew Kennedy; and two nephews, Scott and Barry McConnell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield, Interment will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown with full military honors.
