->Margaret Johnson 1933 - 2014 UNITY, N.H. Margaret Elaine Johnson, 80, a former resident of Greenfield, Mass. and a native of Brattleboro died peacefully Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, 2014 at Sullivan County Health Care where she had been a resident for the past three years. Mrs. Johnson was born in Brattleboro on Dec. 14, 1933, the daughter of Daniel Patrick and Olivette (Buckley) Lillis. She was raised and educated in Brattleboro attending the Austine School for the Deaf, later graduating from Saint Michael's High School, Class of 1952. She went on to attend Gallaudet College in Washington, D.C. While residing in Greenfield, she had worked as a file clerk for Phoenix Life Insurance Company in Greenfield. She was also a devoted homemaker. Mrs. Johnson was a longtime communicant of Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Brattleboro. Of her leisure time activities, she enjoyed drawing, painting with oils and watercolors, sketching with charcoal, antiques and rug braiding. She was first married to George Minckler in Brattleboro in 1955. She later married Robert V. Johnson in 1985. Her second husband predeceased her in 1988. Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Remillard and her husband, Robert of Croydon, N.H.; two sons, Mark Minckler and wife, Donna of Hinsdale and Daniel Minckler and fiance, Eileen Bouch of Greenfield, Mass.; one sister, Mary Gardner of Keene, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, John Lillis, and a sister, Olivette Lillis. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Terrace Street in Brattleboro. Burial will follow in the family lot in Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the start of the services. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Johnson's name may be made to Saint Michael's School, 48 Walnut Street, Brattleboro, VT 05301 in care of Elaine Beam, Principal.
