Murphy, Margaret J. ALBANY Margaret J. Murphy, age 94 years, formerly of Franklin St., Athens, died April 24, 2008, at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, N.Y. She was born in NYC, N.Y., September 27, 1913, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (McWilliams) Oatman. She resided in Athens from 1950-2003. While living in Athens, she belonged to the Athens Garden Club, the Athens American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the W.H. Morton Ladies Fire Auxiliary, the Ten O'Clock Crafters, and the Athens Senior Citizens. In 1984, she retired from her supervisor position for the New York State Mental Health Department in Albany. Her husband, Daniel pre-deceased her. She is survived by a son, Michael Murphy and his wife Sheila of Albany; two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Mary) Bauer of Coxsackie and Evelyn Koffroth of Fla.; also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, 28 North Vernon Street, Athens, with Rev. Carolyn Lewis, pastor of the 2nd Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will take place at 12:00 noon in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m.
