PENACOOK - Margaret Ida Martin, 92, of Penacook, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013. Margaret was born in Short Falls on March 4, 1921. She was the daughter of Walter and Ida (Shaw) Pickard. Margaret lived most of her life in the Concord area and worked at the NH State Hospital for 17 years. She deeply enjoyed gardening and crocheting but, more than anything, she loved having her family around her and watching them all grow.Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Marjorie and her husband, Ron Audet and Juanita and her husband, Ben Elliott Sr.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Martin; her brother, John Pickard; her sisters, Elizabeth Lawrence and Beulah Nichols; and her grandson, Ricky Mudge. The family will receive visitors Thursday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King St. in Boscawen. A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Cremation Society chapel. Margaret's urn will be placed at Maple Grove Cemetery in Canterbury. In lieu of flowers donations in Margaret's name may be made to the Concord/Merrimack County SPCA, 130 Washington St., Penacook, NH 03303.
