Mrs. Margaret Hood Peters, age 75, of Bloomfield Road, Springfield, passed away at 5:20 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at her home.A native of Washington County, she was born on Oct. 29, 1937 to the late Sammie and Edith Curtsinger Hood. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a homemaker. Preceding her in death was a son, William Peters, Jr.; a brother, Ancil Hood and a sister JoAnne Holt.Survivors include, her husband, William "Bill" Peters; two daughters, Debbie Young (David) of Campbellsville and Sandy Huddleston (Phil) of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Tammy Milton, Amy McNeill and Renee Rakes (Aaron); five great grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Miles and Helen Chesser (Tolbert) of Willisburg; a brother, Charles Hood (Burbona) of Chaplin and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Cal Adams, officiating. Shirley Ball and Rev. Frank Peters assisted him.Burial was on Cemetery Hill in Springfield.Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Peters, Steven Peters, Ernie Peters, Aaron Rakes, Loren Chesser, Terry Miles, Troy Hood and Gary Holt.Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
