Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mrs. Margaret Hood Mayo Davis, who went to her heavenly home on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010. The Rev. David Carroll will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.Margaret graduated from Emma Sansom High School, was activities director at McGuffey Nursing Home and Gadsden Health Care. She retired from Gadsden Health Care. Mrs. Davis was a member of Malone Baptist Church and an inactive member of Alabama City chapter and Order of the Eastern Star. Margaret was a lady who loved God, her family and working with senior citizens.She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Mayo; son, Chris Mayo; parents, Sadie and Frank Hood; brother, Frank Hood Jr.; and granddaughter, Kristal Anderson Lewis.She is survived by her devoted husband, Wade Davis; children, Mike (Brenda) Mayo, Steve (Kelly) Mayo, Tim (Leslie) Mayo, Jimmy (Susan) Davis, Pam (Don) Tallent, Gail (Earl) Moyer, Jeff (Cheryl) Davis, Kim (Brian) Sims and Brian (Deborah) Davis; 25 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gail (Hub) Wells and Betty Klein.Pallbearers will be grandsons.The family would like to express a special thanks to Gadsden Home Health and Hospice, Kathy Murphy and Lori Stephens, RN, and Dr. Wesley.
