Margaret Harris, 77, died Feb. 14, 2012, at Palm City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Linden, Ala., and moved to Hobe Sound more than 70 years ago. She was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hobe Sound, where she served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, usher and missionary board. Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Jones Powell and Dolores Harris Bishop, both of Hobe Sound, and Ora Jones Chester of Lake Worth; sons, Lloyd Jones of Port St. Lucie, Henry Harris Jr. of Lake City, Quinn Harris of Jupiter, Elliott Harris of West Palm Beach and Jarrett Harris of Hobe Sound; sister, Delia Brown of Hobe Sound; brother, Jake Brown Jr. of Hobe Sound; 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Minerva Brown and Martha Brewster. Services: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at New Mount Zion Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 18 at First United Methodist Church of Hobe Sound. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City.
