Harrington , Margaret "Marge", 86, of Pompano Beach died peacefully at her home watching television in her favorite chair. She was born in Essex, CT. Margaret and her late husband, Leslie Harrington, a member of Carpenters Local Union #3206, moved to Florida in 1962. She worked many years as a cashier for various food stores before retiring. Fiercely independent, she traveled daily to local stores by mass transit. She counted bus drivers and fellow riders among her many friends. She wished to be buried with photos of family, special mementos and her local bus pass. She enjoyed talking with her many friends at Publix, reading and sitting in the sun. She also enjoyed visiting Pompano Beach coffee shops. She was a devoted mother and wife. Margaret is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Diane Harrington of Pompano Beach; her daughter and son-in-law, MaryLee Harrington and James Campanini of Winthrop, MA; her grandchildren, James Jr., Patricia and Brenda; great-grandchildren, Terri, Timothy, Michael, James III. She was predeceased by grandson, Charles. Private services were held Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Pompano Beach. The family suggests donations be made in Margaret's memory to Noah's Ark, Inc, 2217 East Atlantic Blvd. Pompano Beach, FL 33060, a non-profit feline shelter.
