Margaret W. Gunther, 87, died Nov. 29, 2009, at Indian River Medical Center. She was born in New York City and lived in Vero Beach for 21 years, coming from West Dennis, Mass. She was a veteran of the Army during World War II serving in the WAC. She was a retired administrative assistant working in County Government. She was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Hughes of Midland, Texas, Veronica Lenz of Fernandina Beach, Patricia Gunther of Lafayette, Ind.; sister, Mary Militzer of Arlington, Vt.; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, 6320 77th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960. Services: A celebration of life will be at a later date in Fernandina Beach. Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
