LaPLANTE - Margaret Elizabeth Emily (nee Block) April 2, 1914 - October 18th, 2008 Passed away at Peace Arch Hospital -White Rock after 94 years of sharing kindness, respect, and laughter with all she met. She was born in North Battleford Saskatchewan and grew up in Macklin, raised by hard working farm parents, from London England and Dundee Scotland (Henry and Elizabeth Block. She was an accomplished artist and avid gardener, always encouraging anyone who displayed even the least of artistic talent to keep painting. Her indomitable spirit lives on in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as is evident by their success. She is revered by all of us as much for her generosity as being the glue that held our vast and extended family together. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, and leaves behind a son Robert, daughter-in-law Glenna LaPlante, granddaughters Margaret Schwark and Michele LaPlante, grandsons Ryan, Aaron, and Lindsay LaPlante, and great-grandsons, Tyler and Mitchell Schwark. There are also many nieces and nephews in BC and Ontario. As per her wishes there will be no funeral but rather a celebration of life at a future date in Victoria, BC where her ashes will be interred. To all who visited and spent such quality time with her during the last few months the family sends a heart felt thanks knowing how much she appreciated the kind attention.
