CARTER Margaret E. Cookie Carter died in Gainesville, Florida on September 19, 2002. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Employed by the Springfield Atlantic Bank, she moved to Longwood, Florida in 1960 and retired from the South Seminole Bank. She moved to Keystone Heights in 1978. She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Jones and mother, Clifford Jones; sisters, Cleo Hackett and Virginia Kilpatrick. She is survived by her husband, E.W. Ed Carter of Keystone Heights; daughter, Barbara Daughtery of Jacksonville and a host of friends. She is a member of the Melrose United Methodist Church and the North East Florida Boxer Club. Services will be held at the Melrose United Methodist Church on Monday, September 23 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Dalton and Rev. Ted Schweitzer officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church Sunday evening, September 22 from 4-6 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Melrose United Methodist Church, Melrose, FL 32091, or Hospice of North Central Florida, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
