Margaret-E. -Clawson Miller, née en 1923, conjointe de Howard Miller, fille de Otis-J et Mary, mère de Alan, Harry, Sharon et Fl, est décédée le 10 mars 2010 à l'âge de 86 ans.
MARGARET E. CLAWSON MILLER TRUMANSBURG - Margaret E. Clawson Miller, formerly of East Bates Road in Trumansburg, passed away at the Montgomery Home in Odessa on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the age of 86. Margaret's family extends heartfelt appreciation to Paul and Sandy Montgomery, and their capable staff of caregivers, for the compassion and love they have shown Margaret since June of 2006. Born on December 31, 1923 in Canandaigua, NY, Margaret was the daughter of Otis J. and Mary (Silliman) Clawson. Shortly after her graduation from Watkins Glen High School, she married Howard Miller and lived in the Trumansburg area. She worked on the family farm for many years before taking a position in town at the Red & White Grocery and then later at the IGA as a clerk. She continued to have a positive impact on the community through the operation of Frontenac Realty where, as owner, she wore many hats in addition to the roles of agent and broker. Situated alongside the creek in Trumansburg, the agency hummed with activity until Margaret's retirement in 2002. She developed many lifelong friendships with agents/brokers through her membership in the Ithaca Board of Realtors and treated the home sellers and buyers like extended family. Margaret also made friends through an active membership in the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses and through membership in the Finger Lakes Bottle Club. Margaret was an accomplished photographer and writer. Through the years she wrote many articles and had them published in various magazines. She also published a book, "The Fingerlakes Almanac". She enjoyed sharing writing ideas and mechanics with fellow members of the Ithaca Writer's Group and the Carrabelle, Florida Writer's Group. When the outdoors beckoned, Margaret took her fishing gear to a nearby stream or lake or traveled to Canada in search of the prized catch. Memories of family events were held most precious in Margaret's heart. She took great joy in sewing, knitting, and crocheting gifts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These gifts, crafted with her loving hands (now treasured heirlooms), will help keep Margaret's love present in the ensuing years. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her stepmother, Myrta Corlett; three brothers, Stanley, Edward and Lee; and her former husband, Howard Miller. She is survived by three children, Alan (Libby) Miller and Harry (Bonnie) Miller of Trumansburg and Sharon (Donald) Rider of Carrabelle, FL; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg with Pastor Jonathan Burns officiating. The family asks those who wish to remember Margaret in the form of a contribution to kindly consider the National Sjogren's Syndrome Assn., P.O. Box 22066, Beachwood, OH 44122.
