Macon, Ga.<!--Macon, Ga.-->Margaret Copeland Harris, 87, of the Gables at Wolf Creek, died on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009. Funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Dasher Church of Christ with burial in Dasher Cemetery in Dasher, Ga. The family will greet family and friends prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be tonight, Jan. 6, 2009, from 5 to 7 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, Ga. Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Valdosta, Ga., to the late Oscar and LaRue Copeland. She graduated from Lake Park High School and Valdosta State College. She retired from the Alabama public school system having taught as an elementary school teacher for over 20 years. She lived in Decatur before moving to Macon, Ga., five years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Douglass Harris, a minister of the Church of Christ. She and her husband faithfully served churches in Georgia and Alabama for over 60 years. She was a member of the Thomaston Road Church of Christ. She is survived by sons, W. Douglass Harris Jr. of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and Richard Harris of Macon, Ga.; daughter, Peggy (Ben) White of Macon, Ga.; two grandchildren, Cindy (Dan) Adrien of Forsyth, Ga., and Benjy (Camille) White of Macon, Ga.; three greatgrandchildren, Parker and Ethan White and Olivia Adrien; two sisters, Faye (Cleo) Wisenbaker of Dasher, Ga., and Maye (Kenneth) Parkinson of Union City, Ga.; sister-in-law, Cornelia Lovell of Columbia, Tenn.; and brother-in-law, Dennis (Sarah) Harris of Holt's Corner, Tenn.
