JOHNSON Margaret Cheney (Peggy), 52, passed away on July 5, 2006. Peggy was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She graduated from Douglas College of Rutgers University in New Jersey with a B.A. Degree in Psychology. After moving to Jacksonville in 1980, Peggy received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of North Florida, majoring in Ceramics & Sculpture and later became certified in Art Education. Peggy is survived by her loving and devoted parents, John L. and Viola C. Johnson of Jacksonville; sisters, Anne NiCastle of Pompton Plains, NJ and Louise Horst (Todd) of Houston, TX; brother, John L. “Jack” Johnson, Jr. (Diane) of Jacksonville, and several nephews and nieces: James, Garrett, Grayson, Elizabeth, and Alicia. Peggy is also survived by her uncle and aunt, Ralph and Mary Burke Cheney of Jekyll Island, GA., who were Peggy's godparents. Peggy was an avid potter and advocate of art education, and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, Memorial donations be made to the Cathedral Arts Project ( www.capkids.org) or the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Chapel, 1221 State Road 13 in Fruit Cove, Fl. Arrangements by ETERNITY FUNERAL HOME, 348-5579.
