Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Coggins Barton, 87, were held Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Lyerly officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Barton, widow of Frank Lewis Barton Sr., died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002. A native of New Prospect Community in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Ervin Coggins Sr. and Lollie Parris Coggins. Mrs. Barton was a member of Kilbourne Park Baptist Church, a graduate of Furman University and retired from teaching at Logan Elementary School in Columbia. Surviving are her son, Frank Lewis Barton Jr. and his wife Lisa of Columbia; daughters, Lollie Anne Harper and her husband Carl of Isle of Palms and Nancy Carolyn Corontzes and her husband Nick of Clemson; brothers, Robert Coggins of San Antonio, Texas and Joseph Coggins of Zephyrills, Fla.; sister, LaUna Ross of Fairfax, Va.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. A sister, Anne Coggins Moore of Decatur, Ga., and brothers, Albert E. Coggins Jr. of Spartanburg and C. Glenn Coggins of Columbia preceded Mrs. Barton in death. - Greenlawn Funeral Home
