Margaret 'Missy' Brainerd Moses RAMONA, CA - Margaret "Missy" Brainerd Moses, 40, passed away on July 9, 2012, in Ramona, CA. Born in Princeton, NJ, where she attended Chapin School and the Hun School of Princeton before moving to Ridgefield, CT, she then moved with her father and stepmother to Charlotte, VT. She graduated from Champlain Valley Union High School and went on to earn an associate of occupational studies in culinary arts from the New England Culinary Institute. Missy moved to San Diego, CA, in 2002, and later to Ramona, CA. At the time of her death, she was employed by Frito-Lay. Missy loved the outdoors. She was an accomplished chef, loved snowboarding, classic rock and the Boston Red Sox. She was also an avid animal lover and was passionate about rescuing pit bull terriers. Missy is survived by her parents, Bradford and Carol Moses of Grantham, NH, and Martha Gorman Nielsen and Robert Nielsen of Trenton, NJ; her sister, Jean Moses and Jean's wife, Beth Rappeport, of Kingston, NJ; her stepsister, Christine Gorwood of Arlington, MA; her niece and nephew, Melissa and Findlay Moses of Kingston, NJ; her maternal grandmother, Jean Findlay Gorman of Princeton, NJ, and paternal grandfather, George L. Moses of East Falmouth, MA. A memorial reception for Missy will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at The Nimrod Restaurant, 100 Dillingham Ave., Falmouth, MA, from 4 to 7 p.m. The scattering of her ashes will take place in a private ceremony for the family only.
