SPARTANBURG, SC -->Margaret Martin SPARTANBURG, SC-- Margaret Blanton Martin, 91, 3518 Cowpens Pacolet Road, entered the pearly gates singing and shouting on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills Home in Landrum. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Alonzo Lewis Martin and daughter of the late Horace Blanton and Mellie Blanton. Mrs. Martin retired from textiles and was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church. She loved working with her flowers, reading her Bible and cooking. Surviving is a son, Larry Martin of the home; a son-in-law, Rev. Boyd King; three grandchildren, David King and wife, Dana, Mark King and wife, Erin and Lori King; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat King, three brothers and a sister. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015, at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM at the Church with Rev. Ralph Jett, Rev. Boyd King and Mr. Steve Wall officiating. Interment will be in the White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, 'Capital Campaign', P.O. Box 396, Pacolet Mills, SC 29373.
