->Margaret R. BartonNewark Valley: Margaret R. Barton, passed peacefully in her sleep Wedensday Evening, Oct. 5, 2011. Margaret was born on June 19, 1915 in Newark Valley a daughter of the late Scott J. and Sue (Rightmire) Deyo. She was a graduate of Newark Valley High School and was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene F. Barton, former Newark Valley Postmaster. Margaret was a postal clerk in Newark Valley for many years and also was an employee of Fowlers Dept. Store, Binghamton and The Bon Ton Store, Johnson City. She and Gene enjoyed Square Dancing (Shirts and Skirts), bird watching and traveling. She was proud to say she had visited all 50 states (Alaska two times) and crossed both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Margaret was a member of Cornell Ornithology Association and Mohonk Preserve and also a supporter of Pathfinder Village, The Boy Scouts and Waterman Conservation Center. She is survived by several nephews and cousins. Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. Rev. Charles Horvath will officiate. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.
