BARTON , Margaret (Maggie) September 12, 1938 - October 14, 2009 It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of Margaret (Maggie) Barton. Maggie lost her battle with cancer October 14, 2009 while in San Diego, California. Maggie leaves to mourn, her husband and best friend Stuart; her son David (Dara) Mercer; brother Tony (Sheilagh) Sims; stepson Timothy (Sandy) Barton; stepdaughters Pamela (Guy) Sonier and Susan Barton (Grant); and her grandchildren and nieces. Maggie was predeceased by her son, Brent Sims, and her parents, Tom and Peggy Sims. Maggie was born in Newcastle, England, and immigrated to Canada in 1954. She lived in Vancouver for several years before making Calgary her home in 1964. She was an avid lawn bowler and bred dogs for many years. Maggie's infectious laugh, her love of animals, her sportsmanship and her kindness will be forever missed by all that knew her.
