Margaret Brenneman Martin, age 90, died July 17, 2008, in Nashville.Margaret was born in Russellville, Ala., on Nov. 6, 1917. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross R. Martin; her parents, Olivia Mansell Brenneman and Benjamin Franklin Brenneman; her brother, Benjamin Franklin Brenneman Jr.; and her grandson, Joseph Roe Crawford Smith.Margaret graduated from Sheffield High School and attended Florence State Teacher's College and Larimore Business School. She was a member of Cox Avenue Church of Christ.The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2008, from 1-2 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home, in Florence. There will be a graveside service at Florence City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Monday, with burial to follow.Margaret is survived by her son, Joseph Earl Smith and wife, Claudette; her daughter, Margaret Olivia Smith; her brother, Joseph Brenneman and wife, Jean; her sister-in-law, Sarah Brenneman; her granddaughter, Francis Smith Endres and husband, Alex; and her great-granddaughter, Catherine C.
