Griswold - Margaret Ann (Patrylo) Johnson was born at The William W. Backus Hospital on July 9, 1942, and passed away peacefully at Backus Hospital on Nov. 22, 2014. She was the daughter of Stephen A. Patrylo and Margaret A. Brand. Peggy grew up in Doanville and attended St. Mary's School in Jewett City, Putnam Catholic Academy, and graduated from Baltic Catholic High School.Peggy and her husband, Arist, were happily married for 54 years and raised three sons, Arist "Beaver" and his wife, Donna, of Griswold, Christopher and his wife, Danielle, of North Stonington, and Stephen and his wife, Sharon, of Noank.Peggy and Arist took over her father's longtime businesses, Patrylo's Garage and Doanville Package Store in 1972. They were proud of their family and of their businesses. Due to Peggy's health issues, both businesses closed on Dec. 31, 2007. Peggy's grandchildren include son Arist's children, Christy Lynn, Little AJ, Michael and Jessica, and Christopher's children, Cody and Savannah. She also has four great-grandchildren.Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at the Leffler Funeral Home in Jewett City, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Burial in Pachaug Cemetery and a reception at River Ridge Golf Course will immediately following the service.
