Margaret A. Murphy HAMILTON - Margaret A. Murphy, 91, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Care One at Hamilton, where she had resided since early 2007. Born April 2, 1919, in Millstone Township, NJ, Margaret was the daughter of Charles J. and Mabel T. Applegate and a graduate of Freehold High School, Freehold, NJ. Married 47 years, she and her late husband Walter lived in Mercerville most of their lives and enjoyed collecting antiques. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hightstown, and retired after 25 years as an employee with the State of New Jersey. Predeceased by her husband, Walter L. Murphy, in 1991; her brother, Judson C. Applegate, in 2004; her cousin, Arthur (Doc) Applegate, in 2010, and sisters-in-law, Helen Hoffman and Ruth Murphy, she is survived by her niece, Janet E. Pullen and her husband Norman W. of Raymond, ME, and her sisters-in-law, Lillian Western of Milford, DE, Catherine Spencer of Monroe, NJ, and Elizabeth Barclay of Cranbury, NJ. The family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Care One at Hamilton for their compassion, understanding and excellent care. To Margaret's longtime friends, many thanks for years of friendship, and thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for their many hours and days of professional care. Family and friends may call 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ, with the funeral service immediately following. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown, NJ.
