Mamie Lou Gibbs Henderson - Midway -Mamie Lou Gibbs Henderson, 82, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah after a long illness. She was a native and life long resident of Liberty County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hinesville. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, John T. Henderson, Jr. of Colonels Island; one son and daughter-in-law, John T. III and Pam Henderson of Colonels Island; one daughter and son-in-law, Miriam and Wendell Hodges of Brevard, NC; one sister, Johnnie M. Rollison of Hinesville; two grandsons and their wives, Brian C. and Sarah Hodges of Greenville, SC and Scott T. and Allison Hodges of Athens, GA; two great grandsons, Benjamin Clark Hodges and Thomas Henderson Hodges of Greenville, SC; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Harriet Greene of Midway. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Hinesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Memorials are requested to First United Methodist Church of Hinesville, 100 Memorial Drive, Hinesville, GA 31313, or Midway United Methodist Church, 215 Martin Road, Midway, GA 31320, or Colonels Island Fire Department, or a favorite charity.
