Funeral services for Mae Long Phillips, 92, were held at 4 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2012, in Kershaw Second Baptist Church. The Revs. Don Knight and Wayne Dixon officiated. Burial followed in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips, widow of Johnny Jackson Phillips died Saturday, July 14, 2012, in White Oak Manor-Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Mamie Bowers Long. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, where she was a former G.A. Leader, Sunday School teacher and a member of the Joy Group. Mrs. Phillips was also a member of the Kershaw Senior Citizens. Mrs. Phillips always was concerned about others and enjoyed helping when ever she could. Surviving are her daughter, Johnie Law and her husband, David, of Lancaster; granddaughter, Heather Owens and her fiancé, Todd Martin; grandson, Kyle Arant; granddaughter-in-law, Carol Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Cody Arant; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Reeves and her husband, Bankston, Marlene Robinson and her husband, Carl, all of Kershaw; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lula Phillips. She was preceded in death by five sisters; and three brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737, Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
