Avis de décès de Madeline-A. Gray

<!-- FH = Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, Viera -->Madeline A. Gray (81), formerly of Gloucester, MA, passed away June 1, 2012, after a long battle with illness. Madeline A. Gray (Botelho), born in Gloucester on June 15, 1930, she was one of four daughters of the late Joseph Botelho and Margaret Botelho (Veator), Margaret, Mary, Adeline and Madeline. Madeline, who graduated from Gloucester High School, went on to marry Robert B. Gray on the 4th November 1951, from that point on they were inseparable. When the opportunity arose, they purchased 14 Atlantic Road and turned it in to the guest house that became "Gray Manor" and for the next 47 years provided a "home away for home" for many hundreds of visitors to Gloucester. A many of her guests returning year after year, with a number of guests returning for over 20 years. Madeline would always do whatever She could to ensure that everyone enjoyed "New England hospitality" for many becoming a dear and very much loved friend. Splitting their year between Gloucester and Cape Canaveral, Florida, Madeline and Robert retired to Florida in 2004. Robert's passing in 2009 was the greatest loss. Madeline herself fell ill in late 2009 and after a number of back surgeries, had been in a long battle to recover, although eventually losing this battle. She, in typical manner, fought with everything she had until the end. Madeline was a very special person who for the many people whose lives she touched will always be in their fondest memories and in their hearts. She will be dearly missed, our deepest wish is that she be reunited with Robert. Madeline is survived by her sister, Adeline Francis of Tyler, Texas, and her son, Glenn A. Gray of Raleigh North Carolina. After a private blessing in Florida, Madeline will be returned to Gloucester with visitation on Monday, June 11, 2012, from 4-6 pm, at Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, Mass., and funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 10:30 am, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. You may sign Madeline's guestbook at www.beckmanwilliamson.com.
