Madeleine Jackson The family sadly announces the passing of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Madeleine Jackson (nee Ellis) at the age of 92 on June 11, 2006 at the Saskatoon City Hospital. Madeleine was born in Baysville, Ontario July 4, 1913. She graduated from the Toronto Western School of Nursing in 1935 and practiced there until leaving for Scotland to marry Dr. B. A. Jackson in Edinburgh (1938). After the war they returned home to Canada and settled in Saskatoon. She is predeceased by her husband, Barton, and daughter Joyce Elizabeth and is survived by her 5 children: Marion & (Graham) Bender, Bruce & (Louise) Jackson , Eleanor Jackson, Edgar & (Kathleen) Jackson, Douglas & (Barbara) Jackson; grandchildren: Joyce, Barton, Robert, Marnie, Laura, Andrea, Jillian, Malora, Russell, Christopher, Andrew, Pamela and Candace; and 12 great grandchildren. She was active in Saint Paul's United Church, the United Church Women, the City Hospital Auxiliary, the board of Oliver Lodge, and numerous other community activities. She was an ardent bridge player and great sports fan. However, much of her time was devoted to her family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to McKague's Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Church (454 Egbert Avenue) at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2006. Madeleine will be laid to rest with her beloved husband and daughter at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Joyce Jackson Trust for Children & Youth" through the Saskatoon Community Foundation (#101 308 Fourth Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. S7K 2L7)
