Mildred Rose Wood, 79, of Ticonderoga, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010, at her residence. Born in Schenectady, NY, September 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Genevieve (Maney) Boyce. Mrs. Wood had been a resident of Ticonderoga since 1959. She was the bookkeeper for her husband, Russell M. Wood's Auto Repair Business of Ticonderoga for many years. Mildred also ran the gift shop at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga for many years, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Mary's #794 of Ticonderoga and the Moses-Ludington Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell M. Wood on January 21, 2004. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Jacqueline McHugh. Survivors include three daughters, Carol L. Ramundo and her husband, Richard of Rotterdam, Mary Rose Swanson and her husband, Louis of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Kim M. McHugh and her husband, Bernard of Glenmont; and two sisters, Virginia Raffery of North Carolina and Kathryn Moss of Scotia. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Ann Lamb and her partner, Amy Russell, Mary Beth Karkoski, and Cynda Lamb. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. William G. Muench, Pastor, will officiate. Donations in Mildred's memory may be made to the Moses-Ludington Hospital Auxiliary, 1019 Wicker St., Ticonderoga, NY 12883. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.
