Michael Kenny, 61, affectionately known to many as "Jersey Mike," passed away suddenly Dec. 13, 2009.He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Alice Kenny, and his sister, Geraldine Kenny. Michael was born and raised in Hoboken, N.J. He retired as chief petty officer, U.S. Navy, after proudly serving for more than 20 years. For the past 15 years he had lived in St. Augustine, where he enjoyed spending time with his many friends.He is survived by two daughters, Alison Hucker and her husband, Bryan, of Fredricksburg, Va., and Erin Hackl and her husband, Douglas, of Jacksonville, N.C.; two brothers, Patrick and his wife, Eileen Kenny, of Bayonne, N.J., and Peter and his wife, Lee Kenny, of West New York, N.J.; sister, Belinda and her husband, Tom Grillo, of Toms River, N.J.; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Kelsey, Samuel, Kylie and Abigail; four nieces and a nephew; and his dear friend Elaine Domenick and her family.Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Cathedral-Basilica, followed by burial at Jacksonville National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Michael's honor to The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 North Randolph St., Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203.Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
