Family survivors include his loving wife, Karen (Birdie) Anderson and his four children, Kathleen McPartlan, Mike Anderson, Jr. and wife Kristin, David Anderson, Christopher Anderson and wife Paula of Groton, Ma. Stepchildren include Jacquelyn Rogers, her husband, Christopher, and stepson Mathew Rogers. Mike has two siblings, Nancy Irvin of Ft. Myers Beach, and Nathaniel Carl Anderson of Pine Island, MN. Mike has six grandchildren and two great grandchildren all from Groton. Mike was formally married to Anita Friedrich Anderson.Mike's career began as an apprentice tool maker, one of the last of such appointments in the U.S. He was very proud of his apprenticeship and said it rivaled the honor of his doctorate awarded from the University of Ma (formally Lowell Tech). Mike launched his business career with IBM, after earning his way through college, sometimes working three jobs to support his family. His professional path took him to positions all over the world: President of Nixdorf Computer and President of NEC North America. He was President and later the Chairmanship of Hogan Systems in Dallas, where he married his wife Birdie. There he was responsible for Hogan's success and dramatic increase in stock value. He sold the company and retired to Sanibel and Maine.Mike played as hard as he worked…loved golf, fishing, sailing, but his passion was refurbishing old wooden boats and historic homes. Mike left everything better than he found it.Mike served his community as Selectman of Groton, Commissioner, founder of the distinguished Hollis Street Racquet Club. In Sanibel, he was a member of the prestigious Dewsweepers as well as Commisioner of the Wolf Pack at the Sanctuary Golf Club. Mike's life will be celebrated at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church on Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, at 4:00 pm Friday, December 17, 2010. Later tributes will follow in Groton, Ma. and Rangeley, Me. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mike's name to Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust, P.O.
