Michael Francis McCormack of Bluffton, SC and Indian Lake, NY, and former longtime resident of Nanuet, NY, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA following complications from surgery. Michael was born in Louisburg, County Mayo, Ireland, on September 9, 1938, a son of Thomas and Mary Ellen Burns McCormack. He is survived by his wife, Mary Madden McCormack, his children Michael, Jr., Anne Marie (Paraic) Maye, and Thomas (Krista), and his five beautiful grandchildren, Dillon and Adrianne Maye, and Aine, Liam, and Michael McCormack. Three sisters: Bridie, Janie, and Mary; and two brothers: P.J. and Tommy, also survive him, as do sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. His parents and two brothers, Tony and Sean, preceded him in death. Michael was a member of AOH Division 5 and Celtic Golf Club. He was a past President and Chairman of the Board of the Rockland Irish American Cultural Center, and also served as President of the Rockland G.A.A. He owned and operated Kohl's Mamaroneck Movers from 1986 to 2003 before retiring to South Carolina. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of humor, and his ever-smiling face. Friends may call at WymanFisher Funeral Home in Pearl River on Sunday, May 9, from 3-5 and 7-9pm. Michael's Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 10 at 11 AM at St. Anthony's Parish Church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
