Melissa Denise Johnson went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2007. She was born on July 31, 1968 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY, and lived the majority of her life in Rockland County, NY. In 1987 she obtained a license in cosmetology and established herself as a popular beautician within the area. Melissa touched the hearts of numerous people through her occupation and her willingness to reach out to those in need, likewise her love of Jesus emanated throughout her works. She is survived by her husband, Fernando E. Johnson, daughter Bianca, and step daughter Maria Johnson, parents, Mildred and Johnnie Black, siblings, Johnnie Black and Felicia (Black) Jean, nieces, Latoya and Latisha Jean-Francois, and nephews, Jason and Brendan Black. In addition to the names afore mentioned, there is an infinite amount of family members and friends which were unable to be specified, due to space constraints. Friends and family are invited to attend the Memorial Service which will be held at the First Baptist Church, 3 Hoyt Street, Spring Valley, on Friday, January 5, 2007 from 7 to 9 PM, and Saturday, January 6, 2007 from 11 to 1 PM. An additional service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 in Woodland, NC where she will be laid to rest.
