Marye Selene Lowe GoodinSeptember 13, 2011Beloved daughter of Lera Messick Lowe and Walter Kirk Lowe, and beloved wife of Harold Willard Goodin, Marye Selene Lowe Goodin, born February 5, 1920, in Rutherford County, Middlesex, Tennessee, went peacefully to be with the Lord while at Joanne's House in Bonita Springs, Florida on September 13, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Emmett Lowe and James Lowe, as well as her husband, Harold Willard Goodin of Fort Myers. Selene leaves behind two daughters: Constance Diana Goodin Light of Naples, Florida and Dinah Lee Goodin Wilson Schwartz of Fort Myers, Florida, as well as four grandchildren: Stephen Michael (Beverly) Light of Fort Myers, David Jonathan (Shawna) Light of St. Charles, MO, Mary Jane Light of Naples, Florida and Kathie Wilson Scarcello (Bobbie) of New Berlin, Wisconsin. She was blessed with five great grandchildren: Kali, Kelsey, Corey, Erin and Jeffrey.Selene graduated from Kitrell High School outside of Murpheesboro, Tennessee in 1938. In her early years, she was an accountant with Capehart, Farnsworth, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Later on she earned her GRI in Real Estate from Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana. She worked as a Real Estate Broker until she and her husband retired to Fort Myers, FL in 1970. While in Indiana where the Goodins resided for most of their lives, Selene was a member of Kappa Sigma Tau Sorority. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. After moving to Fort Myers, she was actively involved with the Women's Circle at First United Methodist Church in Fort Myers, where she also held membership.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2011 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555 with reception to follow. Friends will be received from 10 - 11 AM.
