Mrs. Mary Miles Brown, a resident of Montgomery, AL, made her tran-sition at 12:51 am on April 5, 2006 in a local hospital. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Lilly Baptist Church located at 820 Hill Street, Montgom-ery, AL, Rev. Thomas E. Jordan, pas-tor and Elder Tom Gardner, Jr. offici-ating. Interment will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Burkville, AL with E. G. Cummings Memorial Funeral Home directing. She was born in Hayneville, Alabama to Bennie and CR Dixon Miles on May 28, 1937. She received Christ under the lead-ership of Rev. J.H. Colvin at First CME Church of Haynveville, AL and later met and married the love of her life, Mr. Henry Norman Brown, on July 5, 1957. To this union three beautiful children were born.She was preceded in death by hus-band, Henry Norman Brown, moth-er CR Dixon Miles, father Bennie Miles, Sr. brothers, Bennie, George and Rufus Miles, mother-in-law, Cla-ra Jenkins Brown, father-in-law, Tom Brown. Cherishing her memories and cele-brating her life are four very loving and devoted children: three daughters, Richetta (Willie) Echols, Cassandra Evette and Kynesha Montree' Brown, one son, Marvin Ray Brown. Grandchildren: Wesley Norman Echols and Gabrielle Little; a loving god daughter, Shakenya Calhoun. One loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn (OD) Payton, four dedicated broth-ers, Clinton Miles, Sr., Franklin (Rosa) Miles, Ike Miles, all of Mont-gomery, AL and Frances (Deborah) Miles of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Miles and Mary Miles, both of Montgomery, AL; three brothers-in-law, Willie T. (Lois) Brown of Hunts-ville, AL, James A. (Maggie) Brown of Montgomery, AL and John R. Brown of Oceanside, CA; three sis-ters-in-law, Daisy (Lee Earnest) Jackson of Gordonsville, AL, Effie Reese of Detroit, MI and Octavia (Sam) Seaborn of Birmingham, AL and several nieces, nephews, cous-ins, special cousins, Minnie (Fred) Shuford of Newark, NJ and Willie McCall, Jr. of Detroit, MI and other relatives and friends.
