<!-- FH = National Cremation Society -->Mary Lavender White of Fort Myers, Florida, whose life began August 21, 1916 in Carrollton, Alabama moved to Lee County in 1993 from Jackson, MS with her husband, Charles White, who predeceased her in 1994. In Jackson she worked thirty years at the University of Mississippi Medical School. Mary lived a life of devotion to God and family, as an active member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church community, singing in the choir, volunteering in the office, and participating in the Women of the Church. She made many friends during her seventeen years in Ft. Myers, serving the community as a volunteer with Lee Memorial Hospital and Hope Hospice. Celebrating the joy of having shared life with her are: Daughter: Mary Robinson, Dick Lenholt, son-in-law. Grandchildren: Charles Robinson, Kim(McKinney, TX); Missy Miller, Tod(Kennesaw, GA); Amanda Warden, Bobby(Alva). Great-grandchildren: Megan, Michael Robinson; Casey, Brady Miller; Robbie Warden. Brother: Robert Lavender, family - Jim, Sherry, Jesse, Christina, Levi Lavender. Other family: David, Sue Robinson; Lou, Ray Cox(Atlanta); Phyllis Seaman, family - Karl, Tracey, Keeley, Kody; Virginia Burford family.A celebration service for Mary will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Ft. Myers , Wednesday, November 24th, 11 AM. Donations in her honor may be made to the "Mary L. White Music Scholarship Fund," Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2439 McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL 33901.The family wishes to express gratitude for the medical care provided by Lee Memorial Hospital. Mary and her family will always remember with deep appreciation, the loving kindness and support provided by the staff of Hope Hospice South.
