Mary L. Henwood, 88, formerly of Bergenfield, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday October 12, 2010, at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Hackensack, NJ, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite Scott Coburn. Mary was a resident of New Jersey for most of her life before moving to the Glen Eddy, in Niskayuna, nine years ago. She had been active in church and women's clubs. Mary was a former member of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was predeceased in 1984 by her husband, Emerson Henwood. She was the beloved mother of Ethel (Bob) Klug, Joan (Jeff) Meador and Deborah (Tom) Reardon. Mary is the sister of Dorothy Holt, Warren (Bobbie) Coburn and Leonard (Joanne) Coburn. She was the cherished grandmother of Scott, Mark, Joseph, Kenneth, Janice, Michelle and Brian. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. In recognition of the wonderful care provided to Mary, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Ellis Hospital Foundation, 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
