Mary J. Cleary, of White Plains, NY. Longtime resident of Westchester peacefully went to God on June 20, 2007 at home in White Plains. She was 104 years old. Mrs. Cleary was a homemaker. Mrs. Cleary was born on August 23, 1902 in New London, CT to Charles and Martha Macomber Nixon. On February 10, 1926, she was married to Joseph H. Cleary at home in New London, CT. Mrs. Cleary lived in White Plains for the past 38 years. Before that, she lived in Ardsley, NY from 1938 to 1953 and in Elmsford, NY from 1953 to 1964. Mrs. Cleary will be remembered for her willingness to help others, her homemade donuts and pumpkin pies and for being an avid New York Yankee and New York Ranger Fan. She is survived by her beloved son, Joseph H. Cleary, Jr. of Pompano Beach, FL. Her three loving daughters, Barbara Cudney and her husband, Robert of Hawley, PA, Patricia Cleary of White Plains, NY and Judith Murphy and husband, John of Elmsford, NY. Her loving and caring companions, Patsy Finklea, New York, NY and Latonia Scott of Yonkers, NY. Her six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Family members who died earlier include her husband, Joseph H. Cleary, Sr. 1962 and three brothers, Charles, Carl and Harry Nixon. Visitation is Friday, June 22, 2007, 5 to 8 pm at the McElroy-Flynn Funeral Home Inc. Religious Services June 23, 2007 at the funeral home, 10 am.
