Mary "Dolores" Hughes, of Congers, NY, passed away on August 26, 2006 at Nyack Hospital. She was 82. Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 13, 1924 to Francis and Frances (Nevins) Fitzgerald. Mary has been a resident of Congers since 1962, and prior resided in Bronx, NY. Mary liked to travel but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She will be remembered as the matriarch of the family. Mary was also the type of person that would offer the world to anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is survived by her son Bill and his wife MaryEllen of Congers, NY, her daughter, Kathleen and Arthur Kunz of New City, NY, two sisters, Natalie Murphy of Toms River, NJ, Bernice Ribustello of Garrison, NY. Mary is also survived by her devoted grandchildren, Donna, Barbara, Michael, Arthur, Jr., Kimberly, Lauren and Timothy, two great grandchildren, Jake and Kaitlin. Mary is predeceased by her husband William in 1998, and her grandson Douglas in 2005. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home, 321 So. Main St., New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Church in Congers, NY, with interment to follow at Gethsamane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, NY.
