Mary Elizabeth Williams Johnson, 49, of Daytona Beach, went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Thurs., Jan. 26, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends at Halifax Health Medical Center. Ms. Johnson was born in Sarasota, FL on May 10, 1962, the daughter of Leroy and Laura Williams (both deceased). She was a dedicated employee at Bethune-Cookman University for the past 5 years. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, music and entertaining her friends. She was also a volunteer at Diggs Miracle Care, Daytona Bch. She is survived by her husband of ten years, Irving Johnson of Daytona Beach; one stepdaughter, Shakella Harris, Daytona Beach; one sister: Cynthia Williams, Sarasota, FL; two brothers: Mitch Williams; Joe Williams, both of Sarasota, FL; mother-in-law: Clara Harris, Daytona Beach; brother-in-law: Steven Johnson Daytona Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She has also left to mourn her passing, a devoted friend Joe Wyman, Daytona Beach and sister in Christ Matilda Riley, Holly Hill. Calling hours are from 5-9 PM, Fri. (today), Feb. 3rd at R.J. Gainous Funeral Home, with family receiving friends at 5:00 p.m. Viewing will be from 12:30 PM until service time at the church on Sat. The funeral services will be held at Berean Baptist Church, 211 Madison Avenue in Daytona Beach on Sat., Feb. 4th at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dwaine Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery, Daytona.
