Mary Elizabeth Blackwelder Lee, 96, of DeLeon Springs passed away on January 24, 2012 at her residence. She was born on May 11, 1915 in Pharrisburg, Ohio and moved to West Volusia County in 1927 from Elkhart, Indiana. Mary was a homemaker and a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in DeLand and a former member of the Auxiliary of the DeLand Moose Lodge. She is survived by her brother Donald Friend and his wife Edith of Orlando; nephew and niece Cloyce Friend, Jr. and wife Eula, Larry Blackwelder and Mary Ray Gamble and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26 from 6-8pm at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27 at 11am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand with Pastor Brian Carr officiating. Interment will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
