Mary E. Morris, 75, of Hinesville died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Liberty Regional Hospital after a long illness.A native of Bullock County, AL, she had lived in Hinesville since 1998 and was a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church.She is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia Tennant of Temple, TX, Cheryl Surles of El Paso, TX, and Missy Rodriquez of Columbus, GA; four sons, Donald Adams of Columbus, Carshie Adams III, of Valdosta, Sean Adams of Las Vegas, NV, and Terrance Morris of Suffolk, VA; sister, Evelyn Pough of Columbus; brothers, Dr. James Davenport of Petersburg, VA, and Leonard Davenport of Nashville, TN; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Debra Pough and Barbara Lawrence, both of Columbus, GA.Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, with prayer service and rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at noon Thursday, Sept. 18, at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church with Father Adam Kasela officiating. Committal service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus.Pallbearers will be Leon Tennant, Terrance Morris, Carshie Adams III, Willie Lawrence, Albert Surles and Luis Rodriquez.Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
