COX, MARY "LOU" Lou went home to be with Jesus on August 20, 2013. She was a resident of Oneonta, AL. Retired from Associated Groceries after 10 years of service where she was employed as an accountant. She was a long-time member of the American Legion. Lou was a member of Mountain Pointe Ministries. She was a supportive military wife and mother of two. She traveled the world with her two sons and husband during his enlistment in the U.S. Air Force. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Joe Sidney Cox. She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Cox and Jerrell Cox; 3 grandchildren: Lynn, Nicki, and Sidney; 5 great grandchildren and one specially loved great granddaughter, Crystal Dawn; brothers and sister-in-laws: Earl and Virginia Cooper, of Oneonta, AL, Edith Cooper, of Columbus, MS, Betty Cox, of Arkansas, and Martha Cox Bradford; numerous nieces and nephews; adopted daughters, Ramona Jane (Tommy) Harmon and Cathi Cunningham. A funeral service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Chapel on August 24, 2013 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Mary L. Cox fund at any BBVA Compass Bank. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville directing.
