He had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 1985 coming from Montgomery, AL. He was born June 3, 1928 in Lorain, OH a son of the late Doane and Jesse (nee Rick) Miller.In 1947, Marvin joined the U.S. Air Force and spent 22 years serving in Japan, Germany, Korea, the Philippines and two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1969 and spent the next 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service. After moving to Bonita Springs, he join the Lee County Sheriff's Department V.O.I.C.E. program and in 2007 officially retired after 15 years due to health reasons. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth A. "Betty" Miller of Bonita Springs, 3 children, John S. Miller and his wife, Beth and Jeffrey J. Miller and his wife, Diane all of Montgomery, AL and Janet Brown and her husband, Tim of Canandaigua, NY. He is also survived by two step children, Budd Walters of Bonita Springs, FL and E. Ruthan Miller and her husband, Bob of Mankato, MN; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Reiman and Alberta Ferrell and a stepson, Daniel J. Walters.A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held Friday, December 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home 28300 So. Tamiami Trail, with David L. Goins, Chaplain of the Lee County Sheriff's Department, officiating. Military honors will follow. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to the Lee County Sheriff's Office - Bonita Springs Christmas Fund 8951 Bonita Beach Road #565, Bonita Springs, FL 34135. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
