MARTHA EMERSONCARTER, 96 EUSTIS - Martha Emerson Carter, 96, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 16, 2013, as a result of natural causes. Ms. Carter was born February 8, 1917 in Lafayette County, FL. She moved to Lakeland with her family in 1937. Ms. Carter was most recently a member of Lake Gibson Church of Christ and formerly a longtime member of Lake Wire Church of Christ. She was a dear, sweet lady who will be missed by family and friends alike. Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her beloved, twin sister, Mary Walker. She is survived by her son, John W. Carter, 2 grandsons and numerous loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9-10am at Lakeland Funeral Home at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland.
