MURPHY Margaret "Peggy," 83, of Spring Lake Heights passed away at home on January 21 in the arms of her husband of 60 years. Peggy was born and raised in The Bronx, NY. She graduated from St. Pius High School. Upon her graduation she worked for General Electric, Manhattan. Peggy married her husband Jack Murphy on November 7, 1953 at St. Peter and Paul Church, The Bronx, NY. Peggy managed the finances of her husband's business, Jack Murphy Associates. Peggy and her family lived in Emerson, NJ for 40 years where she was a communicant of Assumption Church as well as being active in her community. She has resided in Spring Lake Heights for 20 years and was a communicant of St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake. Peggy was a great hostess and entertainer and was known for her keen sense of humor. She loved to dance the Lindy and lived for her eleven grandchildren. Peggy was predeceased by a brother John Kilduff, a sister Theresa Argenti and a son-in-law Richard Schanen. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack Murphy, Spring Lake Heights, a son and daughter-in-law Brian and Maureen Murphy of Montvale, NJ; three daughters and two sons-in-law Kerri Schanen of Wall, Sheila and Greg Arakelian of Whippany, NJ and Deirdre and Kevin McGuinness of Spring Lake Heights; eleven beloved grandchildren Meghan, Leah, Michael, Sean, Kaitlin, Claire, Kelly, Mark, Gavin, Dara and Mary. Peggy is also survived by a brother, Thomas Kilduff of Pennsylvania, two sisters-in-law, Sister Peggy Murphy, O.P. of Middletown, NY. , Joan Kilduff of Whiting and a brother-in-law, Daniel Argenti of Manchester, NJ. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, January 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 AM on Friday, January 25, at St. Catharine's Church, 215 Essex Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine's Mausoleum, Sea Girt.
