Margaret (Toolan) Mayer, of Valley Cottage, 87, died Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Nyack Hospital with her husband Henry at her side. Margaret was born on April 27, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY to the late James and Marion Toolan. She was educated in Brooklyn and worked at the American Bank Note Company until her marriage to Henry Mayer on October 29, 1949. She moved to Valley Cottage with her family in 1955. She was a homemaker to her husband and her three children. Margaret was a communicant of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Wife of Henry Mayer; mother of George (Barbara) Mayer of Kinderhook, NY , Mary Ann (David) Schubmehl of Delmar, N.Y. and Kathleen (Robert) Paul of Rotterdam, NY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Allyson Mayer, Michael Davis, Jessica Schubmehl, Rebecca Schubmehl, Stephen Schubmehl, Kristin Paul and Bryan Paul. She was predeceased by her sister, Jane Lynch and her brother, Thomas Toolan. Margaret's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the medical Staff of Nyack Hospital for the wonderful care and comfort provided to their mother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church, 82 Lake Road, Congers, NY 10920.
