Margaret C. Peg (Crichton) Smith, age 96, of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, July 2, 2012 at Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Quincy, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Smith was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to the United States at the age of twelve. She was raised and educated in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School. She lived in Quincy for ten years, previously living in Weymouth for thirty years. She was a sales associate at Talbots in Hingham for five years. Mrs. Smith enjoyed vacationing in Maine and taking cruises to Bermuda, she also had a very special love of clothes shopping. She was a longtime member of the Quincy Point Congregational Church and a Sunday School teacher. Beloved wife of the late Arnold M. Smith, formerly of Weymouth. Devoted mother of Janet S. Hogan-Burns and her husband Richard of Scituate. Loving grandmother of Melissa J. Albonesi and her husband Bryan of Norwell, Keith T. Hogan of CO, and Courtney S. Hogan of Boston. Loving great-grandmother of Kate and Lindsay Albonesi, both of Norwell and Tyler Gaudreau of Somerset. Sister-in-law of Paul and Kathy Smith of FL. Also survived by two nieces and several nephews. Dear friend of Pamela Spear and Jeanne Hogan. Funeral services were conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., Quincy, Thursday, July 5 at 7 p.m. Reverend Ann G. Suzedell, Pastor, Quincy Point Congregational Church, Quincy officiated. Interment will take place at a later date at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
