Mary Faye Montgomery, 71, of Danville, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Danville Care Center.Faye was born April 29, 1933, in Florence, Ala., the daughter of Toy Lennox and Opal (Holt) Smith.Faye married Robert Other survivors include her mother, Opal Smith, of Florence, Ala.; one son, William Robert Faye's father preceded her in death.Faye graduated from Florence High School and Montevallo College in Alabama.Faye worked as a counselor in family service for 20 years. Faye was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Faye was a longstanding member of the American Legion Auxiliary and had many interests, including gardening.A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
