PERRY LYNDAAugust 24, 1948 _ June 10, 2009 Lynda passed away peacefully at home in Vancouver surrounded by family and friends after a short period of illness with cancer. Lynda's memory will be cherished by her loving husband Bob Edwards, her step-father Bruce Allen, her brother Peter Allen, her aunts Jean and Stella, her uncle Peter and her cousin Irene, mother-in-law Gladys, sister-in-law Bev (Don), brother-in-law Jim (Pat), and many nieces, nephews, family, friends and godchildren. Lynda was born in North Vancouver and spent her early years following her entrepreneurial spirit as a restaurateur and real estate developer. She was a key partner in her husband's business ventures. She was a philanthropist; her favorite project was B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation's Crystal Ball. Lynda was a consummate hostess, a gourmet cook, a world traveler, a wonderful story teller and a keen listener. She had a great love of the arts and was an accomplished pianist. Her many friends, an eclectic group from all over the world, have a huge store of great memories of an intelligent and beautiful woman who lit up the room when she entered. The combination of her flashing blue eyes, superlative wit and robust laugh has given all her friends' wonderful moments that will never be forgotten. We were all touched so many times by her kindness and empathy. Life is not equal and fair and that is brought home when such an outstanding person is taken prematurely. Lynda lifted up the spirit of everyone whose life she touched. That is her everlasting gift. Memorial service to be held at Christ Church Cathedral at 690 Burrard Street in Vancouver on June 22. 2009 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a fund in memory of Lynda Perry at B. C. Children's Hospital Foundation.
