Lucy Lou Anne Smith OVIEDO, Fla. -- Lucy Lou Anne Smith of Oviedo, Fla., passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in the early morning. Lou Anne was a beautiful, proud and courageous woman who cherished spending time with her family and friends. Lou Anne was born in Portland and was raised in Windham. Lou Anne considered Maine to be her home away from home and always looked forward to watching sunsets over Highland Lake during her visits. Lou Anne also enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, cooking Italian foods and being an extraordinary Nonni to her grandchildren. Lou Anne was employed with Publix Super Market in the Deli Department. Lou Anne loved being around people and always had a smile on her face even during her last days. Lou Anne will live on through the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 40 years, George Smitty Smith. Her memory will live on through her sons, Noel Smith and his wife Cheryl of Windham, Scott Smith and his wife Kiera of Holden, Mass.; and their two children, Evan and Maggie. She is also survived by her loving mother, Agnes Prescott of Westbrook; sister Connie Hodgdon and brother-in-law, Kermit Hodgdon Jr. of Windham; her nephews, Jamey Hodgdon of Gorham and Jeffrey Hodgdon of Austin, Texas; and her younger brother, Anthony Prescott and his son William of Windham. Lou Anne is predeceased by her father, Kenneth Prescott and her brother, Rocky Prescott. A plaque displayed in Lou Anne's kitchen sums up her values in life: In the end, nothing we do or say in our lifetime will ever matter as much as the way we have loved and enjoyed our children and families. A memorial service will he held Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 5 p.m., at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Oviedo, Fla.
