BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mrs. Lucy L. Griffin Brown, 79, of Ashmore Drive, entered into rest August 9, 2013. Funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of which the Rev. Oscar Brown pastor and Pastor Tonita Cody eulogist. Mrs. Brown, a native of Edgefield County was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Jonnie (Horace) Pollock, Aiken, SC; Diane (Roger) Moore, Beech Island, SC; seven sons, Benjamin (Brenda) Brown, Trenton, SC; James (Olga) Brown, Augusta, GA; Harice (Nickie) Brown, Johnston, SC; Douglas (Chevet) Brown, Graniteville, SC, Robert (Sharon) Brown, Carl (Wanda) Brown, Orangeburg, SC and pastor Anthony (Marilyn) Brown, Gainesville, GA; four sisters, Nancy (Elijah) Blocker, Aiken, SC; Sarah (Fred) Williams, Edgefield, SC; Susie Kidsrick, Washington, DC; Jennie (Carlos) Reid, Bowie, MD; two brothers, James (Teresa) Griffin, Trenton, SC and Raymond Griffin, Columbia, SC; 35 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 15 great- great grandchildren; a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
